ARTWALK - Stories In Light: A Photography Show
featuring the work of Rainer Connell

Description: On Friday, December 7th Barjon’s Gallery is pleased to be hosting Stories In Light, an exposition featuring the stunning nature photographs of Rainer Connell.
Rainer Connell picked up his first camera at age eight and was first published at age ten. His passion for photography has taken him to many places around the country.
Now at age fourteen he is a freshman at Billings Senior High School, but he continues to make the time to connect with nature, either through the camera or the fly rod.
“Photography literally means to ‘write with light’, says Rainer. “In my work, I make an attempt to not only capture an image, but share a story as well. A photo is like music (or any other kind of art). When I hear a song that I can really connect to, I feel like a part of the band. A photograph can be the same. If you feel a connection to the subject when you see it, its inner story may reveal itself.”
Please join us on Friday, December 7th from 5pm - 9pm at the Downtown Artwalk to meet Rainer and explore his work. Stories In Light will be up in Barjon’s Gallery through January 19th.

Photography Artist: Rainer Connell

Date: December 7, Friday (1 Session)

Time: 5:00 - 9:00 pm

Fee: Free admission, everyone welcome

Art of Writing For Children: Writing Group

Description: Creating a Constructive Supportive Critique Group.  As a children's writer--or adult writer--it can be a solitary journey, and at times difficult to be objective about one's own work. These sessions will discuss writing group guidelines and the best way to communicate feedback, receive feedback and provide encouragement. Participants may bring five or six manuscript pages, or an entire picture book manuscript for critique.

Instructor: Carina Camamile is a published poet, a children's writer and avid children's book reader. She has been writing, reading and studying children's literature for over six years.
